How to Find Cheap Moscow Hotels

Moscow is one of the most impressive cities in the world, let alone Russia and Europe. Its unique architecture is world-renowned and has a history unlike that of any other city that can be found anywhere. It is no surprise, then, that Moscow has become a popular tourist destination, as well as being a common place to visit for business travelers.

This popularity has come at a price, especially in a Moscow that is still in the process of redevelopment from the perceived stagnation of 70 years of Soviet rule. Moscow has become one of the most expensive cities to visit in all of Moscow, which can be a problem for travelers on a budget.

Although they might not be easy to find, however, there are cheap hotels to be had within the city of Moscow. Most of these are remnants of the Soviet era, where beauty and comfort were far from priorities. They might not be the nicest hotels you have ever stayed at, but they are functional and most important of all cheap. However, many of these old Soviet hotels have been destroyed or are in the process of being destroyed in order to make way for the development of new, modern, more westernized hotels, so finding the cheap accommodation in Moscow is becoming even more difficult. Many of these cheap hotels which still remain are ones that are closer to the outskirts of the city, away from the major areas such as the Red Square which is currently being reconverted to a place for high end travelers with hotels such as the recently completed Ritz Carlton Moscow.

Some examples of some of these cheaper hotels would include the Best Eastern Eridian, close to the Moscow State University that has prices of about $60 - $70 a night. You can also look at the Vostock Hotel, the Mozhaiskaya and the Sevastopol Hotel, all of these are among the cheaper hotels to be found in the city.

The Internet is of course the best place to find cheap hotels in Moscow. Many sites allow you to browse through the many hotels to be found in the city, listing the hotels by price so you can find the cheapest Moscow hotels around quickly and easily, as well as book your reservation online with no worries.

Most cheap Moscow hotels that you are going to find through most web sites are going to range somewhere between $100 and $150 a night. Not exactly the cheapest hotels you will ever find but cheap for the city of Moscow. There are a couple that you can find closer to the $70 range.

In order to find the truly cheap Moscow hotels, however, you will have to look for other sources, and places that might not allow for online reservations. One great web site that lists a number of cheap Moscow hotels is Cheap-Moscow.com, a web site that is dedicating to offering you the best information on cheap Moscow accommodation, cheap places to eat and cheap things to do on your Moscow vacation.
